Last year for our anniversary Ruben & I took a trip to Tomales Bay...definitely one of the better decisions of our lives. It was the most beautiful place I've ever been, hands down. It's hard to believe that there is still land in California that is so completely breathtaking and unscathed. Along with the remarkable scenery, we ate theeeee best food of our lives. Everything was amazingly fresh and locally produced, which seriously makes all the difference in the world. I'd go back in a heartbeat, and I recommend a weekend trip up there to everyone ever! Hope you enjoy these pictures as much as we enjoyed the weekend there!Wine & cheese basket at the bread & breakfast! I randomly flew down to socal because my cousin needed someone to drive back up to the bay with her. It was a really cool, long day trip, haha. Nice to spend some time with her outside of family gatherings at the holidays, because we were super close as kids but haven't got to spend as much time together as we've grown older. Anyhow, we left San Diego at like 4 am, I believe these shots were taken somewhere around San Luis Obispo. Pretty, gray morning skies.

We stopped at Hearst Castle! It was my second trip there, and it's definitely a must-see at least once in your life. Tons of baller shit and beautiful views.

The indoor pool is my favorite part. Straight beautiful.

Afterwards we went to the beach nearby the castle. I guess it is famous for some kind of seal/sea lion? I have no idea. There were a ton of tourists there, though.

One weekend Rubes and I decided to take the trip up to Lick Observatory. It's in San Jose but it's about a 40 minute drive up a huge hill to get there. Spectacular views of the valley.

Annnnd now these are from a trip I took with my parents to Wrightwood.
Apparently, that is Catalina Island/the Pacific Ocean in the far distance.

Me & Ruben went to Eat Real Fest in Oakland. Basically a bunch of food carts/trucks/vendors piled into Jack London Square, lots of focus on eating organically/locally/sustainably. They had workshops & demos throughout the day. Super fun! We basically stuffed our faces...Mexican Chocolate Creme Brulee, Honey Garlic Wings, Korean Tacos, Tikka Masala Burrito, Lavender Coffee...geez there is no way I am going to remember everything. Basically, you should be really jealous if you were not there!

At 24 years old I am happy to say I finally got to go to my first Lakers parade. I know there are a lot of bullshit bandwagon fans out there, but this was such an amazing and special experience for me. I've been a Lakers fan as long as I can remember, growing up I had pictures of Nick Van Exel, Eddie Jones, Kobe, & Shaq plastered on all my walls. Still don't know why I never made it to a championship parade before this. The fact that this was Phil's last championship with the Lakers makes it all the more important that I was able to go this time around. It was really hard to contain my excitement, it was seriously the equivalent to a kid going to Disneyland for the first time. Being in such close proximity to the players & coaches was magical to me. It really felt like a dream. It was also great to see such unity within the Lakers nation. Living in Norcal I don't get a lot of that, so it's always cool to be able to bond with strangers over something so silly. Lakers baby!!!!!

Last week I went to Dallas and ever since I've been on some "How Stella Got Her Groove Back" shit (don't ask how I know, I've never seen the movie, but Ima get on it.) It was rejuvenating to be reunited with my favorite girl on the planet. It had been too long and the trip has made me miss her all the more, mad Jade withdrawls. All Ima say is that you should be jealous that Jade Elizabeth DeGrio is my bffff and not yours. I don't know anyone who lives life more openly and outwardly, doing exactly what she wants to be doing. Certified gettin' it. And seems to be 100% happy. FYL. I didn't take enough pictures but here they are nonetheless.

These past few days have been beach and further south filled. Last Wednesday I went to Huntington for some basking in the socal sun while it's still readily available to me. On Thursday I departed for San Diego! I stayed with my grandparents in Chula Vista, and was lucky enough to see all of my aunts and uncles except one on my little holiday. I was also lucky enough to catch my cousin Vanessa and her wife Erin, who were on a surprise trip to socal from Manchester, England! On Sunday I met my mom and brother in Rancho Cucamonga for lunch, and from there we went to Pasadena for a quick two day trip. Hit up the Norton Simon,Old Town, Paseo Colorado, etc. And now here I sit, back in Apple Valley, waiting to depart on a weekend trip to Vegas in a couple days!

So here are the so long ago promised pictures from my weekend in Calgary. I am at my aunt's brother Steve's house right now, and if I had my camera cord I'd upload the rest of my pics from Edmonton, etc. but I suppose that will have to wait until I get back to U.S. soil. I fly into Ontario tomorrow night, I'm both sad and happy about my time in Alberta being done, but as far as I'm concerned, I just want to make the best of the rest of my summer break. What up West Coast!

It's been a chill week here in Red Deer. Just spending time getting acquainted with the town and a couple surrounding towns, spending time with the fam. The weather's been good for the most part, reminds me a lot of SF actually. On most days it's in the '70s, with a few rainy days here and there. It's supposed to warm up a little this weekend, which should be nice. We're taking a weekend trip to Calgary which I am psyched for. What up Cowtown!
